My Thankful Rolls will become a favorite family tradition during your Thanksgiving celebrations.
These rolls will also be the first thing to disappear.
The rise is amazing.
The buttery goodness is even better.
The precious note about thankfulness is the BEST part.

These rolls will be the first thing to disappear on your holiday tables. The tiny note makes them extra special. These will become a fun and memorable tradition for your family.
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk (110 degrees Fahrenheit)
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 2 T honey
- 4 T melted butter, plus extra butter to brush on top of rolls after they are baked.
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 3 1/2 cups bread flour
- olive oil
Instructions
- Add yeast and honey to warm milk.
- Let the mixture sit in a warm spot for approximately 5 minutes.
- Add butter, egg, and the yeast mixture to the stand mixer bowl.
- Mix it together.
- Using the dough hook, gradually add your flour and mix everything together.
- Knead the dough at a low speed for approximately 7-10 minutes until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
- Add a small amount of olive oil to the mixing bowl, give the dough a spin around the bowl to cover it in olive oil so it does not dry out, cover the bowl with a towel, and allow it to rise in a warm spot until double in size – approximately 90 minutes.
- While the dough is rising cut parchment paper into 24 strips approximately 1 inch X 4 inches. Have everyone write what they are thankful for on the parchment paper using edible ink pens . Place another piece of blank parchment over the thankful strip and fold into a small rectangle. The blank piece of parchment keeps the ink from transferring to the bread.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch the dough down, and then cut into 12 equal pieces. I use a scale to keep my dough balls the same size.
- Take your parchment piece and tuck it on the bottom of the dough then form a small dough ball around the parchment.
- Place each ball in a greased pan and allow to rise for 30 – 45 minutes in a warm spot.
- Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and brush with additional melted butter.
- Prep Time: 2 hours (includes two rises)
- Cook Time: 12-15 minutes
