Do y’all ever get something completely random stuck in your head on repeat?  Right now, I’ve got a song in brain and its been there since I started planning out my late summer harvest tablescape. I’ve been humming “Summer Nights” from the movie Grease for about two weeks now.

“Summer lovin’ had me a blast

Summer lovin’ happened so fast

I met a girl crazy for me

Met a boy cute as can be

Summer days driftin’ away

To ah, oh, those summer nights”

I am about to lose my mind. I need a new song……hopefully that is not dated.

The Details Of My Tablescape……

butterfly napkin votives and sunflowers
First up, I made my centerpiece using grocery store cut flowers. You can never go wrong with sunflowers and zinnias. I trimmed them and then placed them in a set of vases I found at Home Goods.

I used square cane placemats and a cement charger. I topped the charger with a chartreuse napkin in the shape of a butterfly. The tutorial for the butterfly is below.

On one end of the table, I piled yellow squash, green and red bell pepper, and fresh garden tomatoes in a large cement bowl.

The colors are very vibrant and perfect for summer.

To set the mood, I sprinkled small glass votives around the table.

To provide some height at the end of the table, I used a white pitcher and an antique Turkish teapot to hold large sunflowers.
