This fall cloche DIY took me about 5 minutes to put together. And, it is GORGEOUS.

You can do it too! Just look around your house….and I bet you have most of the items on hand.
Materials
Lazy Susan, or some type of platform like a stand (pedestal)
1 strand of Remote control battery operated lights

Steps
- First, clean the inside of your jar or cloche of any fingerprints. Don’t worry about the outside until you place it where you will showcase it.
- Flip the jar over and place it inside something that will keep it steady. I put mine in a small empty trashcan, but you can use a box, a deep vase, anything to help you not have to use one of your hands to steady it while you decorate it. The bright pink you see in the first few photographs is some tissue paper I stuck in the trashcan to keep the cloche from tipping over.
- Place batteries in your lights and make sure they work with the remote.
- Then, layer the lights into the bottom of your jar.
- Top the lights with a layer of moss stones, balls, and reindeer moss.
- Repeat the layers again until you reach the bottom of the cloche or bell jar.
- Place the battery pack in the center of the arrangement and fill in around it with more moss.
- Place your lazy Susan or whatever bottom you use on top of the bottom of the cloche. I used a small round cutting board.
- Gently flip the cloche over being careful to keep the contents inside of the cloche.
- Finally, place it in its permanent location and wipe any fingerprints off the outside of the glass.
Tips
- Don’t throw away the card that the lights come wrapped in. Use this card to re-wrap your lights when you take your decor apart. Store these on the card in a labelled ziplock bag for future use.
- The remote control lights I used have 8 different patterns and also have a timer. You can set the timer to come on in the evening and it will go off 6 hours later. Or, you can manually turn them on any time you want a little fall ambiance in your space. You really need the remote control lights so you don’t have to try to turn them on by flipping the cloche over.
- If you need to purchase a base (a stand or lazy Susan) make sure the diameter of your cloche will sit fully and securely on it. Otherwise, your materials won’t stay within the cloche.
THE PHOTOS
I used mine as a centerpiece on our leather ottoman.

Then I built around it by layering in some fun pieces for fall – HUGE air plants, a dough bowl, some wood beads, velvet pumpkins, a candle, and a deer shed I found in our back yard. But, you can get some sheds here.

How easy was this fall cloche DIY? Easy Peasy.
What fun ways have you used a bell jar/ cloche for decor in your home?
