Want to make your spring, summer, and even fall tablescapes EXTRA special? Try out this butterfly napkin fold.
I’ve listed out the steps below. You don’t even have to starch your napkins stiff. The butterfly will hold its shape regardless.
Place your napkin with a point at the top.
Bring the top point down to the bottom point as shown below.
Press on napkin to make a crease.
Take the right point and bring it down to the bottom point.
Place the right point on top of the bottom point.
Press on napkin to make crease.
Bring the left point down towards the bottom point.
Place the left point down on bottom point.
Press the folds down to crease them.
Flip the napkin over.
After you flip the napkin over, the fold will be on the bottom.
Take the bottom point up towards the top point.
Place the bottom point on the top point.
Place one hand on top and one hand on bottom to stabilize napkin and then flip it again.
Press the napkin to make creases.
Fold the bottom of the triangle up approximately one and one half inches.
Your napkin will look like a boat. Press to make a crease.
Pull the left and right tail out from underneath the “boat”. These tails are your wings.
Place your fingers on each wing and push upwards to shape the wings.
Press to make creases.
